AMS Alpha Omega GT-R: King of the Streets, and King of the 1/4 Mile

If you're like us, you love horsepower and speed.  While we normally focus more of our attention on cars that turn quick lap times around a road course, we do like to see the extreme speeds a car is capable of in a straight line.  One such car is the 2000 horsepower Nissan GT-R built by AMS Performance.  The team hails from Chicago, Illinois, and they are also known for their incredibly fast Mitsubishi Evolution X.

The company really turned heads at the recent Texas Invitational "King of the Streets" racing event, where the car took 1st place and beat several cars with over 1000 hp!  The video was posted on YouTube by 1320 Videos.  The trap speeds the car achieved during races was very impressive.  It was north of 200 mph.

The GT-R also laid down a 7.7 second 1/4 mile run at over 186 mph.  Towards the end of the video posted by ThatRacingChannel, they list the stats of the run, and we were blown away by the 0-60 mph time of 1.53 seconds!  The launch in that GT-R must feel a solid kick to midsection by an angry Dwayne Johnson.  For now, the AMS built Alpha Omega GT-R is the quickest GT-R in the world, and we're sure the members of AMS will continue to lower the GT-R's ET.  Who knows, maybe a 6 second pass will be in the cards next year?  What do you think?  Happy motoring and keep on driving!
