Auto manufacturer Buick is giving high school seniors, and undergraduate college students the chance to ease the financial burden of a college education. The scholarship program titled Buick Achievers Scholarship Program is open to a select list of college majors. The company is offering 1,100 scholarships to eligible students, with 100 of the scholarships being worth $25,000. The remaining 1,000 are worth $2,000 each and can be renewed each year by reapplying for the scholarship.
In this era tightening budgets and cuts on education, we are pleased to see Buick taking the initiative to recognize the value of our nation's future leaders. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is February 29, 2012.
